Australian permanent residence visa

Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Immigration in Australia revealed, on the words of the Acting Australian Immigration Minister (Alan Tudge), that strict conditions will be enforced, and that foreign spouses must pass the English language test before they obtain the visa that allows them to stay in the country permanently.

In its first comment on the decision, the Australian government indicated that this step, which is intended to help allow newcomers to settle in Australia, will also apply the test to current permanent residents who are non-citizens.

On the one hand, Australian Government Minister (Scott Morrison) said that this test will not apply to partners or spouses upon entering the country, but it will apply to foreign partners who wish to move from temporary to permanent visas.

It should be noted that this final decision regarding the English language test is scheduled to begin in the middle of next year.
