The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia issued a new royal decree urging precautionary measures to protect citizens and expatriate workers from the Corona virus, in the context of providing maximum protection to citizens, residents, and arrivals to the country, the Saudi Cabinet confirmed, Tuesday.

In a related context, this came within the framework of the meeting held by the Council of Ministers, chaired by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz in Al Yamamah Palace.

In this regard, the Saudi Council of Ministers stressed that the precautionary measures taken by Saudi Arabia complement the efforts aimed at providing the highest levels of protection for the safety of citizens, residents, and all those coming to the territory of the Kingdom, to perform Umrah, visit the Prophet’s Mosque, or for tourism.

And he showed that these procedures were based on the recommendations of the health authorities concerned with applying the highest precautionary standards, and taking proactive preventive measures in the matter of the “Corona” virus and its spread locally and globally, and that these procedures are subject to continuous evaluation by the relevant authorities, and are added to the Kingdom’s support for all international measures, Taken to reduce the spread of this virus.

On the one hand, the Council of Ministers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia praised all the efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, the Civil Aviation Authority and other government agencies to tackle the virus, follow up on any economic repercussions and make the necessary arrangements to deal with it.

On the other side, Essam Saeed, in his statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), after the session, stated that the council followed up on what was called by the Arab Health Ministers Council at the end of its fifty-third session in Cairo, regarding the necessity of enhancing cooperation between Arab countries To implement joint measures to prevent the transmission of the new Corona virus, and to support countries affected by the virus when monitoring new cases.

It should be noted that the Saudi cabinet at the end of the session stressed the necessity of making the most of the activation of risk assessment systems and approaches at the level of Arab countries, and continuing to implement preventive measures according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization.
